Home Visits

Most often, goals are around living day-to-day life better. Sonia very much enjoys helping you attain these goals, as this is what life is all about! One of the best way to practice achieving your goals is to actually practice these tasks in your own home setting. To learn more about the benefits of Home Visits, see below.

Home visits are available within Wagga Wagga, to residential homes and nursing homes. Please note that home visits incur extra cost to cover time in travel.

Community Mobility

Returning to moving about your community can sometimes be the most daunting part of a rehabilitation journey. Sonia takes pride in being able to help clients return to being a part of their community and getting back to their hobbies. Whether it’s meeting you at the local gym, tennis court, at the park, or walking along the river — there is great benefit in being in the place to practice the actual task.

Community Mobility sessions are one of the best ways to get you back to doing the hobbies you love. With a skilled practitioner by your side, you will build confidence, gain helpful advice in terms of fatigue management, safety, and biomechanics, and get back to doing the things you love sooner!

Community visits are available within Wagga Wagga. Please note that these visits incur extra cost to cover time in travel.

Benefits of Home Visits

Reduce pain or gain independence in your own environment

Sonia particularly enjoys helping clients achieve goals specific to their own home. Some examples include being able to sit at your home work station without pain, lift bub in and out of the cot or off of the floor safely without back pain, walk around safely in your home, or return to your daily walk around the block without fear of falling. Practicing these tasks in the actual environment provides the opportunity to optimise bio-mechanics, posture and healthy movement movement patterns, and increase your confidence.

More specific, functional, and familiar

Why simulate working on a goal, when you can actually just do it for real? What if your goal is to be able to walk from your bedroom to your living room? Sonia provides hands-on physiotherapy assessment and treatment designed to help you navigate your own home, giving you the practical skills to live safely. After you’ve had a stroke, walking 20m in the hospital or clinic sometimes lacks lustre; but, walking for the first time the 20m from your bedroom to the living room feels like something to celebrate! Sonia always provides home exercises that can be performed with little to no equipment other than what is typically available in your home — the floor, a chair, the kitchen bench!

More relaxed, comfortable, less distractions

Your comfort is paramount in a successful rehabilitation program! With you comfortable and relaxed, treatment can often progress faster and, in some cases, progress is evident more quickly.

Convenience and less stress!

Is transportation challenging or time-consuming for you due to mobility issues? The stressors of traveling and waiting times are eliminated, making it possible for you to focus solely on your treatment.

Highly personalised care

Home visits by Strive Rehab are typically an hour – this allows for a thorough assessment, treatment, and education regarding home exercise program. You can also request an extended visit if you feel you require it. Likewise, Sonia may recommend an extended visit if your condition is complex and requires additional time to meet your needs.

Safer for high-risk individuals

Do you have chronic illness or complex condition that puts you at higher risk? Are you concerned with your safety or health moving about in public places? By receiving home physiotherapy, you can benefit from physiotherapy in the safety of your own home.
